Karman Chiu graduated from the Hong Kong Art School. She explores her inner state through creation. Picture book creation is one of her ways of expression. She has published two picture books, "Pipi’s journey " (2019) and "Stranger" (2020), telling stories of self-discovery and finding happiness. Her works were exhibited at the Hong Kong Pavilion at the 2023 Bologna Book Fair in Italy.

 

Chiu’s paintings are mostly expressed with weird fantasy and ambiguous imagery. Such as a living body transformed by a certain state and emotion.Her works explores the relationship between the inner self and the outer world, which she calls “the world inside the box”.
